Sweet Gifts From God

"A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals."

I'm lucky to have been graced by God with talent in arts. I discovered that when I was in my primary grade. When you have the skill, you simply know which and what to match - color, texture, size, angle, from the many to the least resources you have. I have utilized my skills in my teaching career by painting, drawing, making sketches, decorating, and have helped some friends in making them teaching devices, especially when I was still in the Philippines in my previous school.

Sculpture is one of the skills I most admire and wished I could. Maybe if I had the chance, I would. I have seen hundreds of photos of arts in the world of sculpturing and they just caught my breath and admiration. Do you know how much tenderness an artist's hands must be when he's doing a masterpiece?

These are not normal hands compared to the daily task that they can do. The artists' hands are special and are gifted from the brain connected to every singular nerve in his body. The hands are the main windows and tongues of these talents because they were created and made possible by the use of these special hands.

Arts include music, dancing and acting, painting, designing, knitting and even cooking. People who play instruments, sing, dance and become actors and actresses, chefs and well known dressmakers are also talented. They don't only undergo audition, rehearsals or schooling but deep in their hearts - its their calling. Its already a rooted interest in their souls and they love to live with it with all their passion.

My late mother, who was also a teacher, was born with a golden voice. She sang like those in the opera. She'd always have a singing presentation part arranged by the staff in any program of her school. She'd been a wedding singer, Christmas carols and she danced well too. Amazingly, she's also born with widow in reading the notes, so she played the piano even without the notes written.

I did not have what she's got and she didn't have what I got, so during those times I also helped her dress her classroom, organize her devices and cut her hair. We did not become rich people inspite of these talents but in our own time, even in the smallest ways, we have tasted success.

The sweet gifts from God doesn't mean to be wealthy by purpose. Sometimes, most artists are untold, unknown but have created a wonderful masterpiece once in their lifetime. For those who have been well-known, popular and rich by now, they deserve every single penny. For they have undergone a lot of pressure, discomfort, sleepless nights, maybe hunger just not to break the mood of expertise, sweat and fatigue.

Art is something, even if you try too hard and have gone to exclusive schools just to achieve some skills, is unique. Art is something you can't borrow or steal from someone. It's a treasure of gold from deep within, a nature's gift that blossoms in every single artist by heart naturally. And because it's nature, you will see his work filled with life, feeling and honor.

How about you? Have you recognized your God-given talents yet?

To pursue your passion, always remember to include your discipline. It's the only way to road of success. Don't use your God-given talents to destroy life rather use them to give life.

Have a beautiful day!

Love,
