I was first curious about the images of cherubs, who appear to have a head and wings in the absence of the body. An old friend of my grandmother told me, they were the unborn children who died while in their mother's womb (the blue babies). She said their souls were pure and therefore go straight in heaven.
Angels have wings and like the white doves, they represent the Holy Spirit. If you ever believed that you have a "Guardian Angel", then you are watched over by your guardian angel.
Humans have no wings but, we have something more than wings. These are the wings of life. In reality, we use them invisibly and unknowingly.
Your Heart
What is in the your heart shows outside. A good natured person have wings because he can make others feel welcome and at peace with you. A good heart understands and gives without asking in return and by doing this, your wings elevate the person and become happy with you. A pure heart is light and extends its vision for the goodwill.
Your Helping Hand
You may have helped only one person today, but its greatness will be endless. It will be done hand in hand. Imagine the world's hands who have helped the Philippines from the tragedy of the world's strongest typhoon, they were wings of life to support thousands of lives, shared love and sympathy for the great loss and damages the victims have had.
It doesn't matter where you are, as long as you help, you are using your wings for the good of others.
Your Kind Words
Kind words come from a good heart and good thinking. Do you know how much you inspire someone just by saying kind words? What you say is a reflection of your heart. Spoken words have wings, they fly and reach another ears. When you hear something good said about you, how do you feel? You feel inspired and it fills joy in your heart. Continue saying kind words, they are always inspiring.
Your Prayers
Prayers are soundless, immeasurable and powerful. As long as they come from your heart, God needs no sound. He hears from the heart not from your mouth. Prayers have wings, your faith brought wings to your prayers. Miracles happen, very rarely, you may not even realize how or when or where. You may thought it's an accident. But they do happen. Pray from your heart sincerely.
My friend, do not be misled by today's society and endless changing lifestyles and fabulous things that your eyes can see, that your ears can hear, that your hands can feel.
Remember that human wings will always be invisible because these wings are about us, what's inside us and what good thing you can do, for you and for others.
